FAQ
Questions founders ask me
Straight answers — no jargon.
AI-assisted development has reduced the cost of writing code. I pass much of that saving on to you. My focus is on helping you build the right thing — not billing for developer hours.
No. Many of my clients are first-time founders. I explain technical decisions in plain language and help you make informed choices without needing to become a developer yourself.
AI writes a lot of the code — but I make every important decision. Architecture, product trade-offs, security and scope all stay in my hands. That is what you are paying for.
You do. Upon full payment, all source code, designs and documentation transfer to you. I retain the right to reference non-confidential work in my portfolio unless you request otherwise.
Yes. Many clients continue working with me for iteration, monitoring and roadmap work after the first release. I also provide a clean handover if you want to bring development in-house.
Yes. I'm happy to sign a mutual NDA before discussing your idea in detail.
Usually not at this stage. Most software businesses succeed through execution and speed to market, not patents. I can point you to appropriate legal advice if you want a proper opinion.
I'll tell you. The free Founder Call exists partly so I can give you an honest assessment. Sometimes the best outcome is advice to validate further before spending money on development.
Yes. I regularly collaborate with in-house teams, freelancers and agencies. Discovery and architecture work can be especially valuable when you already have technical people involved.
Always. I work with a small number of founders each year. You won't be passed to an account manager or a junior developer.
Yes. I only take on projects where I believe I can add genuine value and where I'm comfortable standing behind the product.
That means I generally won't take on:
- Products that are deceptive, exploitative or unethical.
- Projects that are illegal or designed to circumvent laws or platform policies.
- "Clone" apps with no clear differentiation or value proposition.
- Ideas where I genuinely don't believe the proposed product is the right solution.
If I don't think I'm the right person to help, I'll tell you honestly. I'd rather decline a project than build something I don't believe has a realistic chance of succeeding.
